Not Open Today!
Reopening just as soon as I can!
(Caught a lil bit of sickie...time to sleep and soup!)
Chickadees!

What a fantastic group! (and you should have seen their makers!)
Tonight was the first-ever FINDERS KEEPERS "Do It Yourself, B'y!" workshop: 6 super people under the guidance of 1 fab instructor (my mom!), turned a pile of sheep's wool into the adorable wee birds seen above.
I know! Crazy-cute, right?
Watching these darling birds "grow" before my very eyes was truly amazing, and what a thrill to see each emerge with its own unique personality!
Thank you to everyone who came out and filled the studio shop with the sounds and sights of crafty, wooly madness-- it just doesn't get any better than this!
Mom: great job. I completely love your fast-paced, no-nonsense, get er done style of teaching--there is no other way we could have accomplished our goal in 2 hours, thanks.
And! The Buttons! In addition to their new knowledge, handiwork and extra supplies, makers also left tonight's class with the sweetest little 1 inch button showing a photo of a felted chickadee. If you see Robin and James (buttonmakers) from MIXED NUTS Buttons, you might bow or curtsy to show respect--my deadline was impossibly tight and they came through beautifully. Thanks MIXED NUTS!
Look for a newsletter with details of our next workshop (as soon as they're final), and if you have suggestions, get in touch!
Class is Full!
The January 25th needlefelting workshop is going to go ahead as planned!
We're squeezing in an extra person, caller #6...if you emailed me after 1:00 ish today, I will give you a call if anyone cancels. All those before that time have a spot with their name on it!
Big thanks to all the Crafty Keeners, looks like a great group...stay tuned for next month's sweetheart of a workshop!
p.s:if you're wondering "what workshop", sign up for the newsletter! (the link is over there on the "About" page.) You will be among the first to know the scoop on all things Lamoore!
Happy New Year!

SO, I had the best intentions.
I had some great ideas.
I even had the festive photos all set to go.
But what became of my end-of-year blog/newsletter? Did I give up on Christmas altogether? Amnesia? Kidnapping?
Nope, I'm afraid it was simply this: my Christmas intentions joined the ranks of all the other "ideas' that don't quite make the cut...I write them down, make a plan, and then? I do other things.
Other Things. Sly little masters of seduction and sabotage, catching me unawares, filling me with wild ambition, then a sense of guilty resolve: "I'll do better next year."
AND ALL OF A SUDDEN....
It *is* "next year"!!!!
12 new chapters of big plans and even bigger Other Plans!
As I try hard to ignore my beckoning back-burner projects, Here's what I'll be trying even harder to focus on:
1. Produce Inventory. Lots of it. Enough that I can manage the time to: go to at least 1 Music Festival this year, take a few food-collecting hikes, take regular beach days, clock some miles on the moto-bike---lots of motivation, wish me luck!
2. Make headway with my plans to expand. My lil art business is healthy, but always tenuous--it doesn't have to be, but to change it takes lots of research, then lots of hours. I hope to greet 2011 with a solid plan.
I'm curious: What will you be focusing on this year?
What will likely be tugging at your skirts, diverting your attention?
Sometimes, the Other Things that interrupt us are brilliant gems, gifts we didn't ask for, but exactly what we need!
I guess we can all choose our path, but if the birds call out, let us not be too absorbed that we forget to stop, look up and wonder.
Last year's New Year's blog ended with my 2009 mantra: Begin.
For 2010, I am telling myself this: Focus.
Here's a call to the barmaid of life to bring us all a round of great things.
To those enduring suffering and hardship, even tragedy: may a little dream burn bright and keep you warm from the inside out.
when the rain came down
wonderin what I should do
to turn the world around
I was thinking of you
I was thinking of me...
I'm still working on a dream.
