Happy Hallowe'en!

Original, vintage cat's eye glasses, varsity cheerleader jacket, embroidered satin skirt...let's go to the HOP!

That's my pussycat face on my way to a friday night costume party...George (my dog)was not impressed! Those eyes are painted on top of my eyelids...creepy, huh?
This and That
Lately it seems everywhere you look in Cape Breton there's a new art show, craft fair, art auction or other cultural event...makes for busy, happy artists!
Our local Cape Breton Center for Craft and Design is raising monies for its very exciting relocation by hosting an auction of special pieces of member-donated art and craft. I designed a special 3-piece jewelry set just for the occasion...here's some pics!

In total, the earrings, bracelet and necklace feature 12 pieces of bottle-top beachglass that I collected from local beaches. I added in some fresh water pearls and put everything together with Sterling Silver. It was tricky to get a good photograph, so if you're interested in owning this one-of-a-kind set, I recommend seeing it in person at the auction...phone the centre staff at 902-539-7491 for tickets...see you there!
Also, there's a new art show at Cape Breton University that opened yesterday...two of my paintings, "Drift" and "Foxglove" are on display along with the work of many other island artists.
I'm in the midst of preparing for the Christmas shows (Marconi and Victoria Park), which means lots of jewelry-making but also plenty of display-tweaking as well. Things are looking good and I can't wait for you to see the new layout!
