Bursting forth, and Leonard Cohen
Posted on Monday, May 19th, 2008

local mayflowers--*the* smell of spring!

In the midst of the heightened activity*, one man has the power to take me away from my work.
Leonard Cohen.
I will be in the audience tomorrow at the Savoy Theatre, Glace Bay...ticket says my seat is a few rows from the front but surely you will find me floating around somewhere in the rafters...look up, look waaaay up! (giddiness has set in. eee!)
I'm sparing you all my lengthy personal history of Leonard-love (for now), but after tomorrow, well, my eyes will have turned to stars and my conversations will be peppered with Leonard-isms for months to come. Be still, my heart.

*Since I have been bee-busy with many projects to attend to(in Atlantic Canada the retail sector springs back to life this time of year too,)...I'm falling behind with my emails, so if you're waiting, please know i haven't forgotten, I'll be buzzing your way soon!

"Springtime Starts and then it stops
in the name of something new..."-Leonard Cohen

Announcing: Redux

Heart and Soul:Teena Marie Fancey, both surrounded by and overflowing with BEAUTY!

Last March we dreamed it up, this December we got our acceptance letters in the mail, and now it's time to let you all know...

"We're having a show!!!"

To anyone who's been wondering what I've been keeping up my sleeve, this is it...this is the "other love" that dared not speak its name...until now!
In March/April 2009, Cape Breton University's Gallery 1 will present Redux, a show of found-object infused original artworks by myself and the very lovely Teena Marie Fancey.
Working with Teena Marie is Synchronicity in its highest form. The show is shaping up to be "something-else-lemme-tell-ya" with a little bit of "well, I never" thrown in for good measure. I am astonished at Teena's ideas (and, also, finished pieces) and you will be too...save the date--I want to see you there! (and especially *YOU*!)
My own contributions to the show will be completed mostly over the summer months, as my winter/spring is Finders Keepers production work season. Production is going very well, with some of the nicest sand dollars I've ever turned out set to be released into stores, as well as the wider availability of your favorite flower necklaces...look for them in stores...finally!

"and she shows you where to look
among the garbage and the flowers..."
-Leonard Cohen
